The Story | Rise of an artist
"It's important to remember where you came from. Not everybody gets' delt the same hand of cards in life. However, everyone has a choice to turn the odds in his or her favor. Always remember that no matter how "low" you start with a little hard work and persistence you can rise above anything around you. This is my story of perseverance!" - Jessica J. Cone
We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
- The Holy Bible Romans 12
" Too many opportunities are passing us by because we are too focused on what everyone else thinks. Parents are discouraging kids from creative hobbies or ideas because "Hobbies are for fun and that's not what makes money." It's a domino effect that makes it harder for people to see their full potential.
It doesn't matter what your race, gender, sexuality, religion, or situation is. You can make it, and you are worth it! Let people talk, but don't ever let anything rob you of the talent that is unique to you. Do everything in your power to keep improving and pushing yourself forward. Eventually, the same ones who doubted you will be proven wrong through your hard work and accomplishments. Be that person YOU want to be and nothing less.
Always remember that where or why you were born doesn't matter. What is important is where you go from there. I am just one person doing the best I can. By the grace of God, I am here to tell my story. I may not be able to reach everybody, but I hope my story can serve as an inspiration to at least one person out there going through hard times. It's never too late to start chasing your dreams."
" If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward. "
--- Martin Luther King Jr.
2016 - 2019: Today Jessica lives peacefully with her super supportive husband and kitty in their home purchased in 2016. They also joined the multimedia media ministry at Spring Glen United Methodist Church as video and audio technicians. In 2017 4 members of the church funded the small launch of Vee Art Studios. Between the start of Vee Art Studios to current day, the company experienced study growth and has been featured on various news outlets such as News4Jax, WhyNots, UPS.com, and Jacksonville Buzz TV. Jessica now operates Vee Art Studios full time and is a TV host for the Jacksonville Buzz.
"In the far future, I would like Vee Art Studios to be a print shop that doubles as a public art studio. Kids and teens would have access to computers, equipment and would learn about digital illustration while having a network of support from mentors. I want to think that if there are more positive things for kids to participate in that they wouldn't be so involved in negative activities. I easily could've been one of those kids had I not been blessed with support. Maybe one day I can be their support. I'm darn sure going to try." - Jessica Cone
"Don't ever let somebody tell you... You can't do something. Not even me. All right? You got a dream. You gotta protect it. People can't do something themselves, they wanna tell you-you can't do it. If you want something, go get it. Period."
